BTC Markets inks sponsorship deal with Australian tennis star Ajla Tomljanović

BTC Markets

We are pleased to announce our first athlete partnership with Australian tennis star Ajla Tomljanović. In an innovative first, BTC Markets and Ajla will co-create an exclusive, limited-edition POAP or digital NFT badge. The POAP will be part of a wider competition, to give BTC Markets customers a unique chance to meet Ajla in person, as she prepares to compete across Australia this summer.

Ajla currently ranks No. 2 in Australia and 45th in the world in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Singles Ranking. Aged 28 and a resident of Boca Raton, Florida, she has won four singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit, represented Australia in the 2021 Billie Jean King Finals and made the Quarter-Finals of the 2021 Wimbledon Grand Slam. As an accomplished junior player in January 2015, Ajla won the 2009 Australian Open girls' doubles title with Christina McHale.
With the current Australian Open 2022 season, she hopes to take more steps towards a top-30 world ranking and is working hard towards achieving that goal.

Commenting on the partnership, Caroline Bowler, CEO of BTC Markets said: “We are so proud to support the next wave of Australian talent with Ajla. Cryptocurrency on BTC Markets is fast moving, just like Ajla on the court. She encapsulates the promise and potential of Australia. We know our clients will be proud to cheer her on this summer."

“According to our latest BTC Markets Investor Study Report, we experienced increased investor activity from female investors in the last financial year, testament to the fact that crypto is continuously breaking fresh ground. The partnership between BTC Markets and Ajla Tomljanović embodies that spirit of the next generation,” she added.

"When I'm training, I only want to partner with the best. The same rules apply as I start to learn more about crypto, so I'm excited to partner with Australia's largest, home-grown crypto exchange, BTC Markets," says Ajla.

The deal includes sponsorship in both the Sydney Tennis Classic and the Australian Open. Tickets to see her live in action at both tournaments will also be given away under the terms of the partnership. Eligible customers can enter the competition via the BTC Markets social channels that will be live from today.
