How to enter?

It's easy! Simply log into your BTC Markets account. Make a trade on any pair to the value of AU$10.00 or more each week during the promotional period.

You are automatically entered into the draw.

That's it!

When is the promotion?

The promotion period will run from Thursday June 22nd commencing at 12:00am through to July 26th, 2023, at 11:59pm AEST.

Competitions will run on a weekly basis from Thursday 12:00am AEST through the following Wednesday 11:59pm AEST. This constitutes the trading period for each weekly competition.

The next weekly competition begins at 12:00am the following Thursday.

How will I know if I have won?

Winners will be personally notified by our client support team via email to confirm the prize allocation and schedule a phone call to talk through the steps necessary to claim the prize.

Please ensure you have a verified phone number associated with your BTC Markets account.

We will also post a weekly announcement on this blog, on our social media channels and via our weekly email newsletter on Thursday afternoons.

In order to safeguard the privacy and security of the weekly winners, limited information will be disclosed publicly to include the prize draw number and their state (ie. Week 1, winner #1 from Victoria). However, it is entirely up to the winners whether they wish to grant BTC Markets permission to utilise their first name and state, although this is not obligatory.

When are the winners announced?

Each Thursday at 10:00am AEST, we will randomly draw two (2) winners to receive $5,000 each in Bitcoin (except for SA residents who will receive $5,000 in AUD).

At 10:30am the winners will be notified via email and this blog post will be updated.

Terms and conditions

BTC MARKETS 10th BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY – PROMOTION T&Cs

1. WHAT’S THE PROMOTION?

1.1 The BTC Markets 10th Birthday Giveaway (promotion) (NSW License No: TP/02680, SA License No: T23/792, ACT License No: TP 23/00991) is conducted by BTC Markets Pty Ltd ACN 164 093 887 (BTC Markets or we) in accordance with these terms and conditions.

1.2 Subject to complying with the eligibility conditions, you will be eligible to enter the promotion, which will be comprised of AU$5,000 worth of BTC (prize) that is offered to 10 successful winners (promotion offer). The total value of the prize pool (which is comprised of 1.2 BTC) is approximately $50,000 (value as of 8 June 2023).

(a) Noted that winners residing in the Australian Capital Territory (‘ACT’) will be issued with AU$5,000 cash to their BTC Markets account.

1.3 The promotion will commence on 22 June 2023 [12.00AM] and end on 26 July 2023 [11.59PM] (promotion period). However, we can amend the promotion period at our absolute discretion.

1.4 By entering the promotion, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. If you wish to opt out of the promotion, please raise a support ticket via our platform and submit an opt out request.

2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

2.1 To be eligible to participate in the promotion, you must:

(a) be at least 18 years old and ordinarily reside in Australia (excluding residents of Northern Territory (‘NT’));

(b) hold an active account with BTC Markets (BTCM account);

(c) make a trade of AU$10 or more of either AUD or cryptocurrency from your BTCM account during the promotion period (eligible transaction);

(d) act in good faith and not breach any applicable laws;

(e) comply with the terms and conditions of any social media platforms in which the promotion offer is published or distributed; and

(f) comply with any other conditions we may prescribe in relation to the promotion offer, which will be available at www.btcmarkets.net.

2.2 Each eligible transaction during the promotion period will be taken to comprise an entry into the promotion offer provided you continue to comply with the other eligibility requirements of the promotion. Entries are limited to one per account per 7-day period.

2.3 However, if we believe you have engaged in any fraud or material abuse of the promotion (i.e., by submitting transactions with negligible value or by otherwise obtaining an unfair advantage through deception or by gaming the promotion), we may in our absolute discretion refuse to accept your entry in the promotion.

2.4 The promotion will be comprised of 10 winners who are randomly drawn from all eligible entries. Each winner will be entitled to the prize. The draw will occur each Thursday at 10:00am AEST from 29 June 2023 at the offices of BTC Markets.

2.5 If you are the winner of the promotion:

(a) we will contact you by telephone and email using the credentials that are linked to your BTCM account. You must claim the promotion prize within 3 days (or such other period we nominate) after we have notified you;

(i) Noted that winners residing in South Australia (SA) will have 14 days to claim the promotional prize;

(b) you must provide us with proof of any eligibility which applies to the promotion; and

(c) You have the option to provide consent and grant us an irrevocable license to publish your name and tag you on any post we publish in connection with the promotion.

2.6 If you comply with clause 2.5, the prize will be deposited to your BTCM account within 7 days.

2.7 If you do not comply with clause 2.5, we may withdraw the prize. We may send you an email confirming the withdrawal or without providing notice to you.

2.8 We will not be liable for any failure or delay in providing you with any prize that you are otherwise entitled to receive under the promotion. We will not be liable for any loss or expenses you incur in connection with the promotion.

3. GENERAL INFORMATION

3.1 These terms and conditions apply in addition to our general terms, which are available at www.btcmarkets.net/terms-of-service.

3.2 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws in force in Victoria and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.

3.3 We may amend these terms and conditions or cease offering the promotion at any time at our absolute discretion and without providing notice to you. Where we amend these terms and conditions, your entry (or continued entry) in any promotion will amount to acceptance of these terms and conditions as amended.

3.4 You cannot transfer or assign your rights under these terms and conditions.

3.5 If any term is declared unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that term will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions.

3.6 The draws will take place at BTC Markets office, in Cremorne, VIC 3121. Five (5) weekly prize draws will take place at 10:00am AEST each Thursday following the launch date of the promotion.

(b) 06/07/2023 – 2 winners
(c) 13/07/2023 – 2 winners
(d) 20/07/2023 – 2 winners
(e) 27/07/2023 – 2 winners

3.7 The winner’s details will be published online at https://www.btcmarkets.net/blog at 10:30am AEST each Thursday following the launch date of the promotion.

Results dates:
(a) 29/06/2023 – 2 winners
(b) 06/07/2023 – 2 winners
(c) 13/07/2023 – 2 winners
(d) 20/07/2023 – 2 winners
(e) 27/07/2023 – 2 winners

3.8 If for any reason a winner does not accept the weekly prize by the time stipulated by BTC Markets, then the prize will be forfeited. The unclaimed or forfeited prize will be placed in the following week’s trade promotion until claimed by a participant.

3.9 Unclaimed prizes for SA winners will go into the next draw date after the 14-day claim period has passed.

The draw will take place at BTC Markets offices located in Cremorne, VIC 3121.

Five (5) weekly prize draws will take place at 10:00am AEST each Thursday following the launch date of the promotion. Draw dates:

(1) 29/06/2023 – 2 winners (SA 14-day claim period expires on 13/07/2023)
(2) 06/07/2023 – 2 winners (SA 14-day claim period expires on 20/07/2023)
(3) 13/07/2023 – 2 winners (SA 14-day claim period expires on 27/07/2023)
(4) 20/07/2023 – 2 winners (SA 14-day claim period expires on 03/08/2023)
(5) 27/07/2023 – 2 winners (SA 14-day claim period expires on 10/08/2023)

Any unclaimed prizes allocated to SA residents in the final draw date on 27/07/2023 will be null and void after the 14-day claim period passes on 10/08/2023.

3.10 If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of BTC Markets, we may in our sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.
